The Mayor of Ruse Municipality Pencho Milkov and the Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev attended the Seventh Traditional Pumpkin Festival, which is held in the village of Tetovo. The event, organized by the local mayor's office and the Community Center "Probuda - 1907", brought together many residents and guests of the settlement. The festival, which has established itself as one of the most anticipated cultural events in the region, offered a rich musical program, as well as a variety of attractions and culinary delights related to pumpkin.
At the opening of the event, Mayor Milkov greeted the participants and guests of the festival: "Today we celebrate not only the harvest, but also the strength of the community. The Pumpkin Festival is more than a competition and an exhibition – it is a gathering of people who share common values and love traditions. With each passing year, this festival becomes an increasingly significant event that unites generations and reminds us of the importance of preserving our customs."
Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev also expressed his satisfaction with the atmosphere of the festival and added: "Tetovo is a living example of how the Bulgarian village can preserve and develop its traditions. The pumpkin festival is proof that here people are connected not only with nature, but also with their culture. I am glad to see so many young people actively participating and contributing to the preservation of these traditions.
The festival continued with the concert program with the participation of singing and dancing amateur groups for authentic and processed folklore from the regions of Ruse, Varna, Silistra and Lovech.
Participants and guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the skills of local craftsmen presented at the exhibitions of folk applied art, as well as to buy unique souvenirs. The program of the event includes a number of competitions, among which the competition "Her Majesty the Pumpkin" stands out.
The festival in the village of Tetovo this year is realized with the financial support of the Municipality of Ruse within the framework of the Culture Program.
