In the building of the Regional Library "Lyuben Karavelov" was opened the documentary exhibition "Famous musicians in Ruse". The exhibition is part of the March Music Days Music Festival and is on the occasion of the life anniversaries of performers who have forever associated their name with the Danube city and contributed to the development of Ruse musical culture.

"This exhibition presents not only the rich history of famous musical talents, but will also serve as an inspiring lesson for all of us about the importance of art and its impact on our cultural identity," said Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev, who opened the exhibition. In his words, it is a kind of space for humility and reflection, where those present will immerse themselves in musical history and enjoy the richness of our musical heritage.

"Famous Musicians in Ruse" celebrates 145 years since the birth of Alexander Yorgandzhiev, 135 years since the birth of Ivan Sorokin, 125 years since the birth of Sasha Popov, 120 years since the birth of Konstantin Popov, 110 years since the birth of Stefan Vachev, 100 years since the birth of Konstantin Iliev, 90 years since the birth of Vasil Kazandjiev and Atanas Kosev.

The exhibition presents documents and photos from the collection "Manuscripts" for Alexander Yorgandzhiev, books for Sasha Popov, Konstantin Popov, Konstantin Iliev, Vasil Kazandzhiev, Atanas Kosev, their monographs, as well as publications in periodicals by the researchers from Ruse Dimitar Sakakushev, Sylvie Stamboliev, Ognyan Stamboliev and others. The exhibition includes programs of their concert performances in Ruse and music editions revealing their work. Some of them are from the collection of the school library of the National School of Arts "Prof. V. Stoyanov", where a collection of Alexander Yorgandzhiev's personal library is kept. They were issued at the end of the 19th century, most of them in Germany. The cover page and the cover of the editions are formed with beautiful ornaments and fonts, and Alexander Yorgandjieve has put his signature on them.

Among them is a 1949 program of the opera "La Traviata" by Verdi, which was the first premiere of the musical work, held in the same year on November 27 with conductor Konstantin Iliev.

The exhibition can be seen in the lobby of the Regional Library / second floor / until the end of March.
