The exhibition "Children of War" was opened today at 11 o'clock on the square in front of the Municipality by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to our country H. E. Olesya Ilashchuk. The exposition in Ruse is dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine, and the event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality Encho Enchev, the Regional Governor Danail Kovachev and his deputy Georgi Georgiev, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Ruse Plamen Bobokov and the Counselor for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Ukraine Anna Terticna.
The exhibition showcases 38 works by young artists aged 6 to 16 who participated in the MALYUY International Arts Festival. UA. WAR. The works are on two backgrounds - a light one, which shows paintings from 2022 before the war, and a dark one, which shows works created during the war. The drawings are made by children from different parts of the country and show the horrors of war through their eyes, as well as their hope for a peaceful Ukraine.
The project is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Ruse, the Association for the Development of International Relations ADRUM, the promotional and production company STUDIORAR under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
Earlier in the day the Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality Zlatomira Stefanova held a meeting with H. E. Olesya Ilashchuk, where the Ukrainian Ambassador noted the significant role and efforts of the local administration in supporting her compatriots.
