Mayor Pencho Milkov presented a certificate and a cash prize to the athlete from SLAK "Dunav" Rosina Nikolova. The athlete was honored for the bronze medal she won at the Balkan Championship for juniors and girls under 20 years of age in Craiova, Romania. In July, Rosina ran 800 meters in 2:11.52 minutes and ranked third.

During the conversation, the mayor emphasized that he and his team value and support the talented athletes of Ruse. "The diploma and the award are a symbol of our gratitude for your contribution to the sporting glory of Ruse. Athletics is one of the noblest sports, which requires exceptional physical and mental preparation, and therefore I have respect for your perseverance and will to succeed. I wish you health, new sporting peaks and many more victories that will bring joy not only to you and your loved ones, but also to all Ruse residents. You are an example of perseverance and sportsmanship that inspire young and old to believe in themselves and follow their dreams," said Milkov.

This year, Rosina graduated with honors from the Sofia University "St. Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher" and will now study at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" majoring in Law. She is known for her perseverance, discipline and organization, thanks to which she successfully combines training with education. "Legal science gives you the opportunity to fight for things you believe in. Law is also a sport that requires a lot of discipline and hard work," Milkov told the future student.

Rosina's sports career began in the acrobatics hall, but then she decided to devote herself to the "queen of sports", and her track and field coach was Nivyanka Kirilova. For two years, she has been working with Evgeni Ignatov, chairman of SLAK "Dunav". Rosina has won many republican titles - she became the champion in the 400 m run for girls under 20 and in the 800 m run for women. The next big challenge ahead of her is the Balkan Games on July 26 and 27 in Volos, Greece, where she will compete on Saturday in the 800 m run.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev and the Director of ME "Sports Properties" Lachezar Ivanov, who wished the medalist good health and continued pursuit of her goals in both sports and education.

Rosina stated that she will continue to compete under the guidance of her current coach Evgeni Ignatov.
