Ruse boxer Radoslav Rosenov was welcomed today with an official ceremony in Ruse after his return from the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool. The graduate of the "Boxing Club Ruse" won a bronze medal in the 60 kg category - an achievement that represents a historic success for men's boxing in Ruse. According to sports experts, our national boxing team has not had such success at a world championship in 16 years.

The celebration took place in the boxing club hall in the presence of Mayor Pencho Milkov, the director of ME "Sports Properties" Lachezar Ivanov, Rosenov's personal trainer Saby Sabev, the executive director of the club Iliya Syarov, Pavel Syarov, the deputy director of the Sports School in Ruse Daniela Slatinski, the Board of Directors and many members of the sports club.

During the ceremony, Mayor Pencho Milkov congratulated the 21-year-old athlete on his exceptional victory. "Our city is known for many talented and ambitious young people and you are one of them. I remember the time when you began your sporting successes at the "Boxing Club Ruse" and won your first fights. Today the entire boxing world is talking about you. Your success is an inspiration to all of us, especially to young people who are looking for their path. You showed that champions are not born, but are built." With every training and difficulty, with every overcoming of injuries and illnesses,” said Milkov.

The mayor wished the young boxer success at the upcoming European Men’s U23 Championship in November in Hungary and presented him with a cash prize along with a congratulatory address.

Over 80 competitors train at the club, some of whom were at the ceremony. The mayor wished all of them to use their strength for good and to be an example both in and out of the ring. “True strength lies in the calmness that brings success. Rado is an example for you that with confidence, work and calmness, victory becomes possible,” emphasized the mayor.

Personal trainer Sabi Sabev added that Radoslav’s success is the result of exceptional talent, backed up by hard work and perseverance. Rado shared that he was sick in the semifinals in Liverpool, but managed to overcome his illness and performed with dignity. He was adamant that at the next race he would again give his all and victory would be his.
