Mayor Pencho Milkov met with the Bulgarian community in Taraclia

On the day of the 186th anniversary of the birth of Vasil Levski, Mayor Pencho Milkov visited the center of Bulgarians in Moldova - in Taraclia city.

"You, the seekers and find the homeland every day, who pass on the love for the native to your children, coexist with other nations, but keep the root alive. You have embodied these values in not one or two generations. This is the award for our Levski", Pencho Milkov addressed the attendees at the ceremony in front of the memorial plaque of the Apostle.

The participation of the mayor in the memorable event was at the invitation of the President of Taraclia District Ivan Paslar, who noted that Levski's personality is a measure of morality and a role model and will always live in the hearts of Bulgarians.

Regarding the initiative for the construction of a bust-monument of the Apostle of Freedom in Taraclia, Mayor Pencho Milkov told the community that Ruse Municipality and the citizens of Ruse will continue to support the cause until the symbol of patriotism is erected in the Moldovan city.

fficial guests at the ceremony on the occasion of the 186th anniversary of the birth of the Apostle were also the acting official at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Chisinau Krasimir Andreev, the deputy chairman of the Taraklia region Alexander Borimechkov and the head of the service for external relations in the Regional Council Stepan Karamalk.

A special greeting from the people of Ruse to the Bulgarian community in Taraklia was also sent by Desislava Vasileva from the Pop and Jazz Singing Studio "Ikonomov" to the Municipal Youth Center - Ruse with the song "Rodina".

The bust-monument made by the sculptor Dimitar Rashkov is already in Taraklia, with the creation of the pedestal and its official opening in September. It will be located at the entrance of the currently under construction "Vasil Levski" Youth Center, which the delegation visited on site. The goal is to set aside a new and modern place for meetings, learning and development of young people in the city, and to erect the monument at its entrance.

By decision of the Municipal Council, the Municipality of Ruse donated BGN 10,000 to the cause, and residents of Ruse donated nearly BGN 4,000 more.

During their stay, the mayor and the official guests also visited Taraklia State University "Grigoriy Tsamblak". Its activity was presented by the rector, Dr. Maria Paslar. Cooperation with Ruse University was discussed, as well as the possibility of educational exchanges and camps between Ruse and Taraklia schools.
