Mayor Pencho Milkov met with the jury of the "Northern Lights" competition

The Mayor of Ruse Municipality Pencho Milkov met with the jury of the International Competition for Performers of Bulgarian and Popular Song "Northern Lights". Its 28th edition starts today in the Profitable Building and will last until October 6.

Among the members of the jury are some of the most famous and beloved names on the Bulgarian music scene - the singer Toni Dimitrova, Eva Naydenova from the legendary band "Tonika", the composer and singer Haygashod Agasyan, Dimcho Rubchev, conductor of the Big Band Ruse. During the meeting, they shared that they were very impressed by the talents of the participants from the first day of the competition. The jury noted the high level of performances and the enthusiasm of the young musicians, who contribute to the unique atmosphere of the event.

Mayor Milkov expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the jury for their commitment and their important role in promoting young talents. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the cultural life of Ruse and assured that the municipality will continue to support such projects that contribute to the development of young artists.

The creator of "Northern Lights", maestro Vili Ikonomov, said that the jury has the unique opportunity to follow the development of children and their growth. He created the competition 58 years ago under the name "Young Talents". Until 2000, the competition was of a national nature, and then participants from abroad took part in it.

Every year "Northern Lights" gathers in Ruse young performers and popular names from the music scene.
