Mayor Pencho Milkov participated today in a business breakfast with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, organized by the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce. This year, the meeting discussed energy connectivity between Bulgaria and Romania, transport links between the two countries, tourism and Schengen membership.
The talks were joined by H.E. Brundusa Predescu – Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria, and H. E. Radko Vlaykov – Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Romania. During the event, the Mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov met and talked with the two ambassadors.
President Radev identified the limited connectivity across the Danube River as a major obstacle to bilateral cooperation. As a priority, he pointed out the construction of a second bridge over the Danube at Ruse-Giurgiu. Another important emphasis on connectivity and overcoming the difficulties of cross-border transport, Rumen Radev highlighted the ferry line Ruse - Giurgiu, which is currently not yet functioning.
The business breakfast was also attended by the commercial advisers of Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Austria.
