Over 500 children from the country will take part in this year's edition of "Danube Nightingales"

On 11 and 12 March (Saturday and Sunday) the XV Anniversary Edition of the National Folklore Competition for Folk Music Performers - Singers and Instrumentalists "Danube Nightingales". The forum is organized by the Ruse Municipality and the Municipal Children's Centre for Culture and Art, and will involve over 500 children and young people from all over the country.

Participants will be divided into four sections: I - Folk singing - individual performers; II - Instrumentalists - individual performers; III - Chamber vocal and instrumental groups; IV - Choirs, orchestras and ensembles.

The chairman of the professional jury will again be Acad. Milcho Vassilev from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts - Plovdiv. Members of the jury will be the unique singers from the "Slavey" Quartet. In addition to judging the participants, they will delight the audience with their performances during the gala concert to award the winning performers.

he "Danube Nightingales" competition is included in the National Calendar of the Ministry of Culture, and for the sixth year is also included in the National Programme of Measures for the Protection of Children with Exceptional Talents. This allows individual performers in the 3rd age group (8th - 12th grade) who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd to be incentivized with an annual scholarship. The children of the II age group (V-VII class), ranked I, II and III, according to the program, can apply to the Ministry of Culture to receive targeted financial assistance to attend a master class.

Due to the large number of participants, the National Competition "Danube Nightingales" will be held simultaneously in three halls of the Dohodno zdanie - the Great Hall, the Europe Hall and the Chamber Hall.

12 March /Sunday/

10:00 ч. Competition part - Great Hall, Chamber Hall and Hall "Europe" of the Dohodno zdanie

18:00 ч. Gala concert and awarding of the awarded performers with the special participation of the unique singers from the "Slavey" Quartet - Great Hall of the Dohodno zdanie.
