The mayor awarded the sixth grader Radomir Danev for "Athlete of the month"

Radomir Danev from the canoe-kayak club "Lokomotiv" - Ruse became the second Sportsman of the Month, voted by the management of the Sports School "Major Atanas Uzunov" for the month of February. He was awarded with a diploma by Mayor Pencho Milkov in the presence of the director of the specialized school Evgeni Nedev, his English teacher Anastasia Acheva and Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev.

Alongside the skills he is developing in the canoe-kayak discipline, the sixth-grader has realised win after win as a participant in the National Multi-Knowledge competitions. In the past school year 2021/2022 Radomir won prizes in all four rounds in the sections "I know English" and "Native speech", and in the final round he won a trophy for 1st place for his knowledge in English, silver medals for 2nd place - in Bulgarian language and literature and 2nd place - in mathematics.
Awarded with a total of 11 diplomas, 10 medals - 4 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze, Radomir Danev became the pride of the Sports School "Major Atanas Uzunov". To date, the student, who is also a keen chess player, continues to develop his curiosity and participate in thematic competitions, giving a serious bid for new achievements.

"I am proud that Ruse has such children like you and I am convinced that with your success you will infect many of your classmates," the mayor congratulated him. Milkov added that those who read books manage their TV viewers and their phones.

The initiative of the director of the Sports School Evgeni Nedev for the monthly awarding of outstanding students was supported by the Municipality of Ruse, with the aim to distinguish not only proven athletes in sports, but also those who have shown excellent results in the educational process.
