After the extensive renovation of the third floor of the Home for the elderly "Vazrazhdane" in Ruse, the renovations in the facility continue, Mayor Pencho Milkov said.
During his visit to the site today on the occasion of the Day of the Elderly, he delighted the residents of the home with the news that a car will soon be purchased for their needs. The procurement of an 8+1 seater vehicle which will have a wheelchair platform is underway. This will be the first own vehicle for the Renaissance Home, which will facilitate the transportation of the elderly, including those with mobility difficulties.
Other good news is the recently signed contract for CCTV in the courtyard and corridors of the building. It will, at the residents' insistence, improve their security.
Annie Venkova, the director of the "Vazrazhdane"- Home for the elderly, announced that the elevator is to be repaired. This summer, all hallways, common areas and bedrooms on the third floor were overhauled. On the fourth floor an air conditioning system with ducts was built.
The home has a capacity of 234 people and is the second largest in Bulgaria. Its renovation is a priority for Mayor Pencho Milkov and the team of the institution, who are determined to renovate all the remaining floors of the building in stages.
