Ruse celebrates its holiday with a solemn ceremony, numerous events and a concert by D2

With the traditional festive Holy Liturgy, which took place in the church "St. George", began May 6 for the citizens of Ruse. A little later, hundreds of citizens took part in the official ceremony by laying wreaths and flowers at the monument to those who died in the Serbo-Bulgarian War on Alexander Battenberg Square.

The celebration of the Day of Bravery and the Bulgarian Army began with the reception of an honorary guard by the commander of Military Formation 32420 – Ruse and head of the garrison Lieutenant Colonel Pavlin Iliev, and officers from military formation 42520 – Shtraklevo also took part in the ritual.

"It is no coincidence that we celebrate the series of holidays under the motto "Ruse together". With faith in our hearts for the good that leads us forward, with the memory of the personalities who lived here in these lands before us, and of the achievements that have decorated and glorified not only Ruse but also Bulgaria, we must go forward with our foreheads proudly raised. This is our mission", congratulated the attendees Mayor Pencho Milkov. He stressed that in the past years there have been many battles and bloodshed, but the real battle man leads within himself, and wished the citizens of Rousse to win it with faith in their hearts and to find their way to glorify Ruse and Bulgaria. Milkov also thanked for the mayor and deputy mayor of Giurgiu Andrian Angelescu and Mariyan Damian, who celebrated the holiday, noting that the holiday is common to both cities.

A festive speech was also delivered by the Regional Governor Dragomir Draganov, who said that today is one of those moments that charge us with national pride and self-confidence and strengthen our patriotism.
The host of the ceremony actor Kosio Stanev also read a congratulatory address from the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, in which the Head of State voiced his conviction that the citizens of Ruse, as worthy heirs of the prominent National Revival heroes who lived and worked in the city, will continue the tradition of being good ambassadors of the new, progress and progress in the contemporary world of challenges.

Memorial prayer and thanksgiving prayer in memory of the soldiers who died for our fatherland were performed by Bishop Macarius, vicar of Metropolitan Naum of Ruse, and priests from the Holy Bishopric of Ruse. Festive marches were performed by the Municipal Wind Orchestra conducted by Dimcho Rubchev.

Official guests at the ceremony were the Chairman of the Municipal Council Academician Hristo Beloev, the Deputy Regional Governor Georgi Georgiev, the Chief of Military District I degree - Ruse Colonel Vasil Petrov, the Deputy Mayors of the Municipality of Ruse Zlatomira Stefanova, Zdravka Velikova, Encho Enchev, Dimitar Nedev , Nikola Lazarov and Borislav Rachev, people's representatives, municipal councilors, citizens and guests of the city.

The rich program during today's holiday continued with an art happening by the students of the National School of Arts, who performed works on "Khan Krum" square next to the statue of the Violinist. A free outdoor play was organized for Ruse children on Aleksandrovska Street by the State Puppet Theater-Ruse.

Throughout the day, the entrance to the expositions in the Regional History Museum, the Eco-Museum and the Art Gallery will be free, and in the Library a portrait of Ruse, locked in postcards, could be discovered. At various locations, citizens could learn to howl St. George's Wreaths, join a horotheque on the square in front of the Courthouse or enjoy the talent of the Sun Vocal Group. On "Aleksandrovska" Street, Ruse residents saw an animation on stilts, an acrobatic show, as well as a professional photo shoot by Ruse photographers.

In the late afternoon, the Youth Parliament of the Municipal Youth Center has prepared an exciting "Search for Ruse treasures", and free tourist walks will be conducted by the professional guides of the Ruse Summer Tour. For lovers of extreme sports, bungee jumping from the Girder Bridge is planned.

The series of events will end with a big concert by the D2 group with the participation of Dicho Hristov and Deyan Kamenov-Dido and a festive dawn. The popular group's participation in the Ruse celebration will begin at 8 p.m. on the stage in front of the Ruse Municipality building.

In order to involve as many people as possible in the events, the Municipality of Ruse has also provided free transport on all municipal lines by public transport.
