Ruse Municipality activates the BG-Alert system for the evacuation of the village of Nikolovo

The dam of the lake in the Lipnik Forest Park near Nikolovo is in critical condition due to a partial landslide caused by heavy rainfall over the past two days. Due to the detection of signs of an imminent danger of the dam breaking, the BG-Alert system will be activated to notify and evacuate the residents of Nikolovo, and for Sandrovo and Marten to prepare for evacuation. Preventive actions have been taken to release the lake.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Ruse Pencho Milkov, Deputy Mayors Nikola Lazarov and Dimitar Nedev, the Mayor of the village of Nikolovo Zlatan Vanev and the Director of the Public Order and Security Directorate Georgi Ignatov are on site, monitoring the development of the situation.

The carrier on the Ruse-Nikolovo-Dolno Ablanovo-Prosena line and "Municipal Transport Ruse" will provide transport for the evacuation of residents. The Nikolovo - Chervena Voda road is temporarily closed to traffic to ensure the safety of citizens.

The Arena Ruse Hall will be used as a temporary reception point for the needy residents of the village of Nikolovo. Currently, a team of social workers and psychologists are on site, who will welcome the arriving people and take care of their further accommodation in social services and hotels.

The Municipality of Ruse will inform about the development of the situation and the actions taken.
