Ruse Municipality implements a project for the reconstruction of the building of complex oncology centre - Ruse

Ruse Municipality is implementing a joint project with the Ministry of Health "Conversion of an existing building into a building for use in case of epidemic spread of infectious diseases at complex oncology centre-Ruse". The total budget for the activities is almost 200 000 BGN, with the underlying objective of strengthening the capacity of the health system in the context of the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 and the preparedness of the hospital network for a timely and effective response to emerging crises.
The project will provide support to the hospital network to address the COVID-19 crisis through the establishment of isolation facilities for the treatment of patients with infectious diseases, as well as the provision of medical and non-medical equipment to monitor and treat patients with COVID-19.

The implementation of the project activities will improve the capacity and functioning of the medical services offered to combat COVID-19, in the context of an ongoing pandemic, and ensure a timely and effective response to similar crises in the future. High levels of capability will be achieved to protect the population in the event of such threats to public health, through the establishment of isolated structures for the treatment of patients in epidemic situations, provided with the necessary medical equipment.

The activities under the project "Conversion of an existing building into a building for use in case of epidemic spread of infectious diseases at the complex oncology centre-Ruse" are implemented by the Ruse Municipality and in partnership with the Ministry of Health under the project BG16RFOP001-9. 001-0002 "Strengthening the capacity of the hospital network for crisis response", funded under the Operational Programme "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
