Ruse Municipality will support Teodor Tsvetkov's 72-hour swimming marathon

Thursday, 14 July 2022

The municipal council unanimously accepted the financial support of another initiative of Ruse swimmer Teodor Tsvetkov. He again sets a high goal - a new Guinness record, swimming non-stop across the lake of Lesopark "Lipnik" within 72 hours.

The initiative of the young Ruse will take place in the period August 11-14 and will strengthen Ruse as a city of first things and the birthplace of numerous champions in swimming sports. Theodore's idea is to show the boundless will of a person and the possibilities of his body in the water. Promoting the lake in Lesopark is also one of the swimmer's goals as it will host the World Dragon Boat Championships in 3 years.

We remind you that this is not the first initiative of Teodor Tsvetkov, supported by the Municipality of Ruse. In the summer of 2021, after the voted financial aid, he finished in second place in the Samara Luka Ultra Marathon in Russia. Tsvetkov then dedicated the 181 km he walked to drawing public attention to global warming.
