Ruse Weightlifting Sports Club awarded its best athletes

The best athletes of the Weightlifting Sports Club "Ruse" were awarded today by the chairman of the board of the club Prof. Dr. Kiril Panayotov, MD. The celebration was attended by dozens of young and promising athletes and their coaches, and the official guests were the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ruse Dimitar Nedev, the Regional Governor Danail Kovachev, the Head of the RUO Dr. Rositsa Georgieva, the Regional Coordinator for the Municipality of Ruse at the Ministry of Youth and of sports Eleonora Gurbanova, the director of the Student Sports School Maya Petrova, the director of the Sports School "Major Atanas Uzunov" Evgeni Nedev and the administrative director of medical facilities "Medica" Alise Murtezova.

"I can boldly state that while years ago sports idols in weightlifting were located in other cities, today a large part of them are already from our city, and this is an additional incentive for all young Ruse athletes. They can draw from them close-up experience and how to be more diligent in training", said Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev in his welcoming speech, wishing the club's athletes professionalism and perseverance in achieving their goals.

More than 30 weightlifters, graduates of coaches Krastina and Radoslav Atanasovi and Kaloyan Mitsev, were honored at the celebration, as expected Angel Rusev won the award for the best athlete of TSK - Ruse. Just two days ago, he topped the ranking for "Sportsman of the Year" in the poll of the village of "Utro" and the Municipality of Ruse. He was followed by the European cadet champion under 17, Dzhan Zarkov, and the bronze medalist of the European Girls' Championship, Nadezhda May-Nguyen. Deniz Danev (sixth place in the doubles at the EP for men in Yerevan), Reni Ruseva (ninth place at the EP for women in Yerevan), Mert Haratolu (sixth place at the EP for cadets under 15) and Ruslana Atanasova also found a place in the ranking. who made her debut on the international podium of the European Cadet Championship under 15 years.
