For another year in Ruse will be held Roman Market, organized by the Regional Historical Museum and the Municipality of Ruse. The event will take place in the ancient fortress of Sexaginta Prieta on 16 September /Saturday/ at 11 a. m. and will show to the people of Ruse the world of Ancient Rome.
Visitors to the Roman Market will hear exciting tales of brave warriors, beautiful Roman women, local merchants and artisans. The actor Ilija Devedjiev will tell the Tale of the Sixty Ship Birds and will take the audience back in time when Ruse was part of the Roman Empire and brave legionnaires defended the conquered territories with skillful combat techniques. Their strategic decisions and weaponry will be recreated by the reenactors of the First Thracian Cohort.
The Roman market will also offer costumes from the era, entertainment, animations, characters and stories, culinary practices. Students from the "Nedka Ivan Lazarova" Vocational School of Clothing will delight the ladies with hairstyles from Roman times, and children can make a pot on a potter's wheel or participate in a workshop for colouring ceramic figurines.
Visitors to the Roman Market can buy dairy and bee products, jewellery and souvenirs, painted glass and wooden products.
Another edition of Danube Sunset Sessions - Solis Occasum 2023 will be held within the event. On September 15 and 16 at 6 pm in the ancient fortress of Sexaginta marina will perform performers RudeBrutal and BOWAX.
Entrance to the Roman Market is BGN 2. per person. No entrance fees for children under 7.
