The 12th edition of the weightlifting tournament "Cup Ruse" starts

Today in the sports hall "Academic" of the University of Rousse was given the start of the state weightlifting tournament "Cup Ruse". It is organized for the 12th year by the Ruse Heavy Athletics Sports Club and is under the auspices of Ruse Municipality.
The competition will be attended by 80 weightlifters from 8 weightlifting clubs from all over the country in the age divisions boys up to 13 years, cadets up to 15 years, cadets and cadet girls up to 17 years. The performance of the young weightlifters is supported and observed by European world and Olympic weightlifting champions. For the first time among them is the six-time European champion and Olympic champion Nikolay Peshalov. Besides him, the champions Yanko Rusev, Neno Terziyski, Yordan Bikov, Sevdalin Marinov, Stefan Topurov and Ivan Ivanov will traditionally watch the performances of the competitors.
"The presence of so many world and Olympic champions at the weightlifting tournament "Cup Ruse" I am convinced that will give additional strength and motivation to all the children who participated. I wish them inspiration to continue with their success in this attractive sport," said the Mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov at the opening ceremony.
President of the host club is Kiril Panayotov and among the official guests of the competition was the President of the Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation Arif Majid and the Governor of Ruse Anatoly Stanev.
The ranking will be according to the Sinclair system, and applications for participation have been received from the clubs Taranenko - Ruse, TSK - Ruse, General Toshev - General Toshevo, Dobrich - Dobrich, Titan - Varna, Chernomorets - Burgas, Mizia - Knezha and Maritza - Plovdiv.
