During the weekend in the Danube Hall was held the 22nd edition of the International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament for Cadets "Ruse Legends" in the Danube Hall. The sports forum was attended by competitors from Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Hungary. The tournament, organized by the Ruse Wrestling Club "Yunak Lokomotiv", was opened by the Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev.
"Ruse is a city with a rich sports history and numerous successes in this sport, and the names of the wrestlers from Ruse have left a lasting mark in the Bulgarian and international sports world. It is a pride for all of us that the young talents continue this tradition and write new pages in the history of wrestling and our city," the Deputy Mayor addressed the attendees. He also wished the participants to experience unforgettable emotions and build new friendships and contacts with peers from different countries.
During the tournament, the team of Moldova won first place, and the second place went to team A of the Bulgarian national team. Third were the competitors of Hungary.
The prestigious cup named after the seven-time European and world champion in wrestling "Valentin Yordanov" was awarded to the competitor of the Ruse Wrestling Sports Club "Yunak Lokomotiv" Burak Beiti. The prize was presented to him personally by the sporting greatness.
The Romanian team left with a prize for fair play, and Dimo Hristov was named the best referee.
The tournament was also attended by Eleonora Gurbanova – an expert at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Secretary General of the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation and Olympic champion Valentin Raychev, as well as other eminent representatives of Bulgarian wrestling – Ognyan Nikolov, Valentin Getsov, Marian Nedkov, Kiril Vatev and the coach Georgi Achev.
"Ruse Legends" is held in honor of the Ruse wrestlers Valentin Yordanov, Ivan Iliev, Ognyan Nikolov, Valentin Getsov, Rahmat Sukra and Valentin Savov.
