The Christmas Concert "Let's Celebrate Together" brought many surprises to the audience

The Christmas concert "Let's Celebrate Together" of the "Ethnic Harmony" Foundation was a great success with a variety of ethnic surprises. On Tuesday evening, in the packed Europe Hall of the Dokhodno Building, more than 120 talented children and young people from different ethnic groups performed on one stage in the traditional concert.

The audience was treated to a true ethnic feast for the senses in sound, dance, costumes, music, treats, word and light. Some of the participants are laureates of international prestigious competitions and impressed all present with their exceptional skills and professionalism. For the twenty-third time the stage was full of spirit and a lot of Bulgarian, Armenian, Turkish and Roma folklore.

More than ten dance and music groups from Ruse and the region took part in the concert "Let's celebrate together". The celebration began with a unique drum show that has become a trademark of the concert. The choir "Danube Waves" with Christmas songs immersed all the attendees in the mood of the upcoming holidays. The performances of the ballet school "Infanti" at the Chitalishte "Zahari Stoyanov", directed by Snezhana Baicheva, once again charmed the audience with professionalism, lavish classical dances and amazing costumes.

A spectacular fashion show "Past in the Future" with exquisite outfits was one of the interesting highlights of the "Let's Celebrate Together" concert program. The elegant girls and boys from the professional school of clothing "Nedka Ivan Lazarova" paraded with a lot of grace and confidence with a specially prepared collection. Girls and boys from the Armenian dance group "Arevahach" brought a very exotic mood. Christmas carols were sung in Bulgarian, English and Armenian by children from the Armenian community. Traditionally, Turkish, Bulgarian and Roma folklore was presented by the children and youth from the "Gunesh" community center, who traditionally perform with great desire, dancing and a fairy of various authentic and modern costumes.

Like at every celebration, the concert "Let's Celebrate Together" had a lot of Bulgarian folklore. In the program there were singing and dancing performances of the singers and dancers from the Children and Youth Folklore Ensemble  "Zornitsa" at municipal Children's Centre for Culture and Art. They permanently won the hearts of the audience with their infectious performances. The two-hour program featured the trio "Manifik", pianists and guitarists from the National School of Art "Veselin Stoyanov", who have won numerous awards in competitions. They presented a spectacular repertoire of composers from different European countries.

And this year the good Santa was generous and prepared a rich treat and gifts for young and old. The audience in the hall traditionally also enjoyed Christmas culinary surprises and hot cakes.

Mayor Pencho Milkov also congratulated all the children and young people who performed in the concert and decorated the stage with a lavish basket of flowers. The Regional Governor also attended the children's celebration.

The idea of the concert "Let's Celebrate Together" is to give an opportunity to gifted young people, laureates of competitions, to prove once again that Elias Canetti is right in pointing to Ruse as a standard of ethnic harmony.

"We believe that celebration is truly beautiful and fulfilling when it is shared. Ethnic Harmony Foundation is in its twenty-third year of developing and implementing programs to promote harmony, tolerance and mutual help among children, youth and adults of all ethnic groups in Bulgaria. At the beginning of the concert we traditionally took stock of the past year, full of many projects. Two hours went by unnoticed with a lot of music, dancing and ethnic challenges. We are glad that we give expression to children from different ethnic communities of the city", says Mrs. Rumyana Kutsarova, Chair of the Board of Ethnic Harmony Foundation.

The traditional Christmas concert "Let's Celebrate Together" of the Ethnic Harmony Foundation, which was held for the twenty-third year, was awarded at a high level by the Commission on Anti-Discrimination and Deradicalization of the European Commission as a sustainable practice to combat discrimination and promote a spirit of tolerance and harmony among children and young people from different ethnic, socio-cultural and religious groups.

The concert "Let's Celebrate Together" brings together the young talents of Ruse and is a natural conclusion of another successful year for the organization, full of ethno-challenges and interesting international projects in the field of civic education from Poland, Belgium, Germany, Romania, France, Sweden, Spain, Finland and others.
