The Council of Ministers approved new changes in the prices for public and intercity transport from 1 February

From 1 February 2024, children up to 14 years will travel free on public transport. Children up to 7 years old will continue to travel free on the intercity road transport, and from 7 to 14 years old - will benefit from a 50% discount. This becomes clear from the Decree of the Council of Ministers of 28. 12. 2023, by which the current reductions, approved from 1 February 2023 and valid until 31 December, are maintained until 31 January 2024.

Under the new provision, senior citizens and students will enjoy a 50% discount on the regular price of season tickets for public transport and intercity bus lines. So far, discounts have been between 40 and 70% depending on the category and type of travel. According to the changes in the requirements approved by the Minister of Transport and Communications, the cards of children from 7 to 14 years will be personal and with a photo according to an approved model. In addition, proof of the parent's/guardian's permanent or current address will also be required at the time of issuance.

The prices of the cards for persons with disabilities and reduced working capacity will not change.

Residents of the municipality of Ruse, who purchased cards on January 2, will be entitled to reissue them under the new more favorable regime.

Ruse Municipality is ready to implement the new regulations as of 1 February 2024. The new prices of the subscription cards will be announced on the official website of the local administration.
