The mayor of Ruse Municipality , Pencho Milkov, awarded the hadball players of HC "Marten - 67" for a series of successes

The Mayor of Ruse Municipality, Pencho Milkov, awarded the juniors of HC "Marten - 67" for their excellent performance in the last few months. The youngsters received medals for their successes, and their head coach Ilko Kanatov was awarded a Meritorious Coach plaque for his excellent work over the years.

"You are a wonderful example of how every minute devoted to training is rewarded - not just with a sports trophy, but also with the love of the public," said the mayor. He wished the youngsters to spread the glory of their team not only on home soil, but also on foreign soil.

Over the years, the club has had a number of successes at the national level - it is twice the state champion for teenagers, six times it is the vice-champion, and it has won many bronze medals.

In 2022, the competitors of HC "Marten-67" also performed successfully. The under-16s took the prestigious fourth place at the Bulgaria Cup, and Todor Velev was awarded the "Best Goalkeeper of the Bulgaria Cup" award. They also came second at the State Handball Championship in Kavarna at the end of May, where Nikola Kostadinov received the "Best Defender of the State Championship" award.

Girls up to 12 years of age took part in the State Championship in Gorna Oryahovitsa on June 16 and 17, performing at a level and winning the bronze medals.
