Mayor Pencho Milkov opened a forum for European programs during the new program period

Thursday, 07 July 2022

Today in the Plenary Hall of the Municipality of Ruse, Mayor Pencho Milkov opened an information forum of the Center for Human Resources Development. The opportunities for education, training and professional qualification that the European Union provides to its citizens were discussed. The campaign is the first of 6 information beams in the country, which are organized on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the start of the Erasmus Program.

"It is very important for young people to go abroad and learn from good practices there. It is an investment as well as a strength that they will subsequently bring to our city and our state to make our tomorrow better," the mayor said. He thanked the Human Resources Development Center for the help and competences they offer to those wishing to benefit from the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes.

During the forum, the directions in which you can apply for European funds, who can get involved, as well as the criteria that ideas must meet in order to be approved, were discussed. The most common problems that may arise during the development of projects, as well as their resolution, were also considered.

The team of the Human Resources Development Center shared with the attendees that the best strategy for a successful project is personal commitment and competence.

Good practices were shared by the "Rainbow" CHDG. The school is working on a project implemented by the "Erasmus +" Program "Building a positive learning environment in the kindergarten for the well-being of children". Its main goals are to develop the skills and multiply the knowledge of children, as well as to develop their love for new knowledge. This spring, the whole team also visited Valencia, Spain, for training and exchange of experience, again as part of an Erasmus+ project.

On June 15, 1987, the EU program to support education, training, youth and sports, which today bears the name "Erasmus+", was officially launched. Its estimated budget for the next program period is EUR 26.2 billion. This is almost twice as much as compared to the previous program (for the period 2014-2020). The 2021-2027 program pays particular attention to social inclusion, the environmental and digital transition and the promotion of young people's participation in democratic life.
