The Municipal Council authorized the Mayor of Ruse to participate in the signing of the Danube Bridge 3 Agreement

"For many years there has been talk about a second bridge on the Danube at Ruse, but so far only the current Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev and our Ambassador to Romania H. E. Mr. Radko Vlajkov," Mayor Pencho Milkov said at today's extraordinary meeting of the City Council.

The reason for its convening was the need to authorize a representative of the local government for the signing of a multilateral cooperation agreement for the implementation of Danube Bridge 3 at Ruse-Giurgiu, as well as a participant in the project working group.

With 45 votes in favor, Milkov was authorized to sign. Deputy Mayor of Ruse, Magdalena Ilieva, will also participate in the group. The leadership of the Ministry of Transport, RIA, NRIC and other competent institutions will be involved. The Councillors proposed that their representative should also participate in the working group, the Mayor clarifying that it was formed by order of the Minister and the proposal should be addressed to him.

According to Pencho Milkov, the moment is extremely important because for the first time there is a real text of an agreement between the two countries and the municipalities on both sides of the border. Once the site is defined, the municipal administration's duties will be to align the future development of the city /planning and construction/ with the facility.
