The renovation of Danube Bridge starts in the first half of July

A working meeting was held today in the Panorama Hall of the Regional Administration, where the forthcoming overhaul of the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse was discussed. It has an approximate length of 1. 1 km.
"Repairs are critically necessary. With the experience gained from the water cycle, I know that we need to undertake a very serious communication campaign not only to the residents of the city, but also internationally, so that tourists and all those passing through the Danube Bridge border checkpoint know that there will be a delay in traffic, "said Mayor Pencho Milkov.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayors Dimitar Nedev and Zdravka Velikova, the Deputy Governor Georgi Georgiev, eng. Ventsislav Atanasov, member of the Management Board of RIA, the Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Kiril Gaberov, the Director of the Regional Road Administration eng. Stamen Savov, the Deputy Chairman of the Giurgiu County Council Cristian Anculescu, representatives of state institutions, the contractor for the repair, as well as the construction supervision.
The renovation is scheduled to begin in early or mid-July, with an amount of nearly 45mln. Lv. incl. VAT is provided from the state budget. The contractor company is "Danube Bridge". A complete replacement of the asphalt pavement, panels, waterproofing, new restraint systems, marking, etc. is envisaged. The deadline for the execution of the construction works under the contract is 730 days, according to the contractor this will not lead to a stop of the traffic on the bridge facility.
