The team is now part of the structure of the State Opera – Ruse
The Ruse Children's Opera celebrated 10 years since its establishment tonight. On the occasion of its birthday, its cast presented the premiere of "Alice in Wonderland" – a production that comes to life on the Ruse stage for the first time.
Before the performance, Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev presented the Opera Director Plamen Beikov with a congratulatory address on behalf of Mayor Pencho Milkov. Rachev welcomed the team and thanked the participants and leaders who put their heart, energy and professionalism into the production. "During this period, the Ruse Children's Opera has become a true cultural phenomenon of the city. The past ten years have been filled with melodies, passion and creative flights - this is the story that the Ruse Children's Opera writes on the pages of our cultural heritage. Thank you for the voices that sound like hope, for the stage on which talents grow, and for the contribution to the spirituality of Ruse and the children's musical and stage talent in the city," said the deputy mayor.
Plamen Beykov thanked the Ruse Municipality and Mayor Pencho Milkov for their cooperation over the years and announced that the ballet school and the Ruse Children's Opera are now part of the structure of the State Opera-Ruse. Maestro Gancho Ganchev also took to the stage, who recalled how the children's opera was created in the city.
The celebration continued with the performance "Alice in Wonderland" with music and libretto by Lyubomir Denev - senior, inspired by the novels of Lewis Carroll. The musical features over 30 young performers from the Ruse Children's Opera, conducted by Maestro Svilen Dimitrov and accompanied by the orchestra of the State Opera - Ruse. The production impressed with the directorial vision of Rositsa Devedzhieva, the costumes of Negoslava Bachvarova, the puppets of Lilyana Vasileva, the dances of Malina Arnaudova and the participation of the special guest - mezzo-soprano Andreana Nikolova.
On the occasion of the anniversary, a booklet album was created with the names, performances and the most valuable stories from the children's stage of Ruse. The booklet is available free of charge, including in digital format.
