The second stage of the programme for renovation of residential buildings has started

The grant will be 80%

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has opened for applications the second stage of the implementation of the sub-measure "Support for Sustainable Energy Renovation of the Residential Building Stock" under the Low Carbon Economy component of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NRSP). The total amount of funds for this procedure is BGN 282 470 400. including VAT, the deadline for applications is 16. 01. 2024.

Approved buildings will receive up to an 80% grant. The Owners' Association shall provide its own financial contribution to this procedure in the amount of 20% of the eligible costs.

The minimum amount of funds requested for each individual project is BGN 50,000 and the maximum for a building/block-section/group of block-sections cannot exceed BGN 9,500,000.
Eligible applicants are buildings with at least four units and more than one owner, as well as all multi-family residential buildings that are managed under the Condominium Property Management Act (CPMA) and were designed prior to April 26, 1999.

It is a mandatory requirement that after the implementation of the measures in the multi-family building to achieve a minimum of 30% primary energy savings, as well as energy consumption class "B".

The activities under this procedure are carried out throughout the country, in 28 districts and 265 municipalities. The funds under the procedure are distributed equally among the six planning regions of Bulgaria, with the North Central Planning Region (Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Ruse, Razgrad and Silistra) receiving BGN 47 078 400.

Among the main objectives of the procedure is to improve the energy performance of the national building stock of residential buildings through the implementation of integrated energy efficiency measures, achieving an energy consumption class of at least "B", better living conditions and quality of life for the population, etc.
