Nearly 50 participants took part in this year's edition of the international cause Peace Run

Nearly 50 participants from all over the world passed through Ruse today as part of the international initiative Peace Run, in which the Municipality of Ruse also participated. They walked the way from the ''Vase'' in the Park of Youth to the square. "Freedom", where they handed over the hot torch of peace - a symbol of the global cause.

Both competitors from Ruse from various sports clubs and volunteers from England, Scotland, New Zealand, Mexico and Iceland took part in the relay race. They conveyed the message of peace to the founder of the initiative, Sri Chinmoy.

On the stage in front of the Courthouse, they were greeted by experts from the local administration, and the young talents from the Vocal Group "Prista", Studio for Pop and Jazz "Ikonomov", Ballet "Impulse" and Club "Kalagia" at the Municipal Youth House took care of the good mood of those who came to meet them with their performances.

On this day, the international team of the race entered through the border checkpoint Ruse. Next week, the runners will travel with the torch of peace over 600 km to the border crossing of Gyueshevo, where they will continue running through Macedonia and Serbia, to the finish in Hungary, which will take place on October 18.

On the square. "Svoboda" the participants in the international cause enjoyed the attention of the citizens of Ruse, as the audience learned more about the cause and its goals with interest. There were also photos to remember with the runners and the burning torch of peace.

The Peace Run is a global relay race that aims to promote rapprochement between peoples and help build a world united in its efforts for development. This largest peace initiative dates back to 1987 and covers more than 150 countries from all continents. Runners carry a burning torch along the entire route - a symbol of people's desire for understanding and harmony.
