The traditional pre-season basketball tournament "Ruschuk 2025" has ended

Over the weekend, the traditional pre-season basketball tournament "Ruschuk 2025" was held in the "Dunav" hall. The organizer of the sporting event was the "Dunav - Ruse - 2016" basketball club with the assistance of the Ruse Municipality.

On the first day of the competition, the girls under 14 years of age competed. With two victories, the first place and the gold medals were won by the basketball players of "Dorostol" - Silistra. The silver medals were won by the team of "Dunav - Ruse - 2016", and third place was taken by "Svetkavitsa" - Targovishte.

On the second day, the boys under 14 years of age competed. The hosts from "Dunav - Ruse - 2016", "Lokomotiv" - Gorna Oryahovitsa and the Romanian teams "Laguna Sharks" - Bucharest and "Primo Megaball" - Piteşti participated in the tournament.

In a contested first semi-final, Laguna Sharks defeated Dunav-2016, and in the second, Primo Megaball prevailed over Lokomotiv. In the match for third place, the Ruse boys recorded a decisive victory against Lokomotiv, and in the final, Laguna Sharks prevailed over Primo Megaball and deservedly won the cup.

The Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality Dimitar Nedev congratulated all participants for their sportsmanlike play and presented them with awards and trophies. He addressed the young competitors with the following words:

“You have shown that basketball is not only a competition, but also friendship, perseverance and teamwork. Be proud of your efforts and continue to develop – because sport teaches you discipline, honesty and respect,” noted Nedev and wished the competitors many more victories and joy from the game.
