Today in RU "Angel Kanchev" was the official opening of the European night of scientists. "Nowadays, education, science and practice are closely connected, therefore it is an honor for Ruse, the Municipality and the University of Ruse to be involved in the initiative for the sixteenth year in a row." With these words, Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev turned to the Rector Academician Hristo Beloev and the academic leadership. The guests of the event were the Deputy Regional Governor Georgi Georgiev and the Chairman of the Municipal Council Ivo Pazardzhiev.
It takes place simultaneously in more than 300 cities in Europe and is an initiative of the European Commission. The theme that the European Night of Scientists will present in 2023 is how humanity should adapt to climate change.
During the event, the winners of the ''My Look at the Careers of the Future'' competition were awarded. 28 young people participated in it in three categories – essay, presentation and drawing. The first place for essay went to Alex Korabova, the second to Milena Georgieva, and the third was awarded to Velina Dimitrova and Denis Ruzhdi. The award for the best presentation went to Nuray Salim, followed by Tsvetozara Todorova and Veronika Petrova. Incentives were also given out in the drawing section.
With the cooperation of the Regional History Museum in Ruse, an exhibition of one of the most outspoken fighters for women's equal rights after the Liberation, Dimitrina Ivanova, was opened. She is Russian and the author of a number of scientific works, including the monograph "Legal Protection of Women's Labor". The exhibition was presented by Reneta Roskheva.
