The crew traveled from Norway to Istanbul for several months
Tomorrow, July 17, the Viking ship Saga Farmann, part of the SagaAsia2023 expedition, will dock in Ruse.
He is expected to arrive from Svishtov around 2 pm on Ponton 10 and depart on the morning of July 19.
The ship is a reconstruction of the Klostad ship (908) found in a field near Larvik, and the crew aims to sail the distance from Tonsberg, Norway to Istanbul, Turkey.
The journey starts on April 29 from what is considered the oldest Norwegian town, Tonsberg. From Lübeck, Germany, the ship enters continental Europe and passes through more than 100 locks on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. From there through Constanta and the ports of the Black Sea to the cherished goal - Miklagard, as the Vikings called Constantinople.
For the participants of the river trip, a tourist walk around Ruse, provided by the Municipality, is planned.
Those wishing to view the ship can do so at the berth tomorrow.
