The “Youth Together” festival will be held on July 6 /Monday/ at Svoboda Square and for the third consecutive year will bring together the young people of Ruse for an evening filled with music, creativity, entertainment and inspiration. The event is organized by the Youth Parliament at the Municipal Youth Center and with the financial support of the “Culture” Program of the Municipality of Ruse, the “Inspiration” Association, the Local Commission for Combating Antisocial Behavior of Minors and Juveniles and “Dunarit” Ltd.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with an exhibition of youth organizations that will present their initiatives and opportunities for volunteering, development and active participation in public life. Visitors will be able to join in various accompanying activities, including the “Book for a Book” initiative, creative workshops, interactive games and a concert by alumni of the Municipal Youth Center.

The rich stage program will begin at 18:40 with a choreograph, and after it the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy musical performances by Adriana Vitanova, MIA, Dan Panchev, Nikola Georgiev and Desislava Vasileva. A special highlight of the program will be the dance show of the “Millenium Art” ensemble from Giurgiu, Romania.

The rock band “12th Line” will also perform on stage, and the culmination of the evening will be the concert of the popular performers V:RGO and Emil TRF, who will close the festival with an energetic musical show.

The hosts Toni Enchev and Radinella Toteva will take care of the good mood of those present throughout the evening.

The main goal of the “Youth Together” festival is to provide a stage for the performance of young people in Ruse, to encourage their activity and to show the talent, ideas and potential of the new generation. The event creates opportunities for new contacts, inspiration and active participation in the public life of the city.

In the period from April 20 to June 12, more than 600 children from nurseries in the territory of the Ruse municipality underwent free preventive examinations by a dentist under the municipal program "My Teeth - Healthy and White". The initiative is aimed at the prevention and prophylaxis of caries in children aged 1 to 3 years and is part of the policies of the Ruse Municipality to promote good child health.

The examinations were carried out by the team of the Center for Dental Medicine 1 in the form of a game, using disposable dental mirrors and the special educational toys Hippo and Pinko, provided for each childcare facility.

The results show that 403 of the examined children had good oral hygiene, without the presence of plaque, enamel discoloration, caries or other dental problems.

The most common condition this year was the presence of abundant plaque on the central and lateral incisors, as well as proximal caries of the molars in children over 2 years of age. Such problems were found in 159 children.

Stains and discolorations on the teeth and/or caries were found in 44 children. During the examinations, harmful habits were also registered, such as prolonged use of a pacifier and sucking fingers, as well as various anomalies in the bite.

The parents of the children in whom problems were found received written recommendations for subsequent treatment and guidelines for maintaining good oral hygiene. Nurses, pedagogical specialists and directors of the nurseries were provided with methodological instructions and practical demonstrations for the proper cleaning of the temporary dentition.

The continuation of the program will provide an opportunity to monitor the condition of children with identified problems, as well as to cover newly admitted children in the nurseries.

Mayor Pencho Milkov met with the newly elected leadership of the Youth Parliament at the Municipal Youth Center. The conversation was attended by Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev, the Director of the Municipal Youth Center Krasimira Nikolaeva, Teodora Trayanova – mentor of the organization, the chairman and members of the team who were elected a few days ago to lead the Youth Parliament - Magdalena Petrova – chairman, Kristina Ivanova – deputy chairman, Preslav Petrov – secretary, and Alexandra Dimitrova – PR.

“Ruse needs active young people who do not wait for changes to happen, but create them themselves. I believe that you will build on what has been achieved so far and continue to establish the Youth Parliament as one of the strongest youth organizations in the country,” said the mayor. He congratulated the young people for the responsibility they have taken on and wished them a successful mandate, encouraging them to continue to be active ambassadors of their schools and the city. “The best advertisement for a school is you,” he addressed the representatives of the new leadership.

The young people shared that their first task is to strengthen teamwork before proceeding to the implementation of new initiatives and a more active presentation of the parliament to the Ruse public. They emphasized that they are taking over the leadership of an organization with a highly established authority and their ambition is to build on what has been achieved over the years.
The four representatives of the new leadership are graduates of the Friedrich Schiller Youth and Youth Union. They said that they joined the Youth Parliament thanks to their friends and after participating in various events of the organization, which impressed them with their activity and public significance.

Among their main priorities is attracting more students and young people to the activities of the parliament. In this regard, a campaign to recruit new members will be launched from the beginning of the new school year, which will give even more young people the opportunity to get involved in the implementation of ideas and causes for the benefit of the community.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Youth Parliament in Ruse is among the most active and well-developed similar structures in the country. The new leadership expressed its desire to maintain this position and work for even greater recognition of the organization.

Pencho Milkov invited the members of the parliament to actively participate in the municipal campaign against violence, contributing with their ideas and energy to the popularization of the messages among their peers.

At the end of the meeting, the idea of ​​organizing a joint meeting between the current and former members of the Youth Parliament by the end of the year was also discussed. The initiative will provide an opportunity for exchange of experience, sharing of good practices and preserving continuity between generations of young leaders in Ruse.

The joint cooperation between the Municipality of Ruse and the Children's Council was discussed at a working meeting today in the building of the local administration. The talks were attended by Mayor Pencho Milkov, his deputies Encho Enchev and Dimitar Nedev, the head of the "Health Activities" department Iskra Ivanova, the secretary of the Public Council on Narcotic Substances Hristina Tikhova, as well as Petar Georgiev - representative of the Children's Council to the chairman of the State Agency for Child Protection.

Georgiev introduced the attendees to the campaign "From Children for Children", organized by the State Agency for Child Protection. Under this motto, the representatives of the Children's Council are conducting active discussions with peers about the harms of the use of dangerous substances. The goal is for young people to realize the real consequences of addictions and to receive information materials with which to reach even more of their peers. In support of prevention, the Agency has also developed a special mobile application - CyberKidz Patrol, through which children can submit signals and find useful information.

"The most important thing is that the information reaches the children on time — especially before the summer vacation," emphasized Georgiev.

Mayor Pencho Milkov emphasized that the fight against the spread of drugs and the prevention of addiction among young people is a common mission that requires the united efforts of the entire society. "As a local authority, we can open doors, provide support and provide resources — but the direction depends on you. You, the young people, know the reality of your generation from the inside: its difficulties, its aspirations and its language. That is precisely why your voice is irreplaceable. Your ideas for joint causes, information campaigns and alternative forms of realization through sports and culture are what can turn good intentions into actions with real results," said Milkov.

Georgiev received the assurance that the Municipality stands firmly behind the initiatives of the Children's Council. During the conversation, meetings were arranged with the Public Council on Narcotic Drugs, the Preventive Information Center, the Local Commission for Combating Antisocial Behavior of Minors, the national initiative "INDEPENDENT OF ADDICTION" and a number of other organizations in order to build a lasting partnership to limit the spread and use of prohibited substances.

The new Transfusion Hematology Department at the MEDIKA University Hospital in Ruse was officially presented today with a solemn ceremony and blessing of water for health. The structure will ensure the collection, processing, storage and provision of blood and blood products for the needs of patients, while at the same time promoting voluntary blood donation in the region.

The event was attended by Mayor Pencho Milkov, Regional Governor Prof. Dr. Lyubomir Vladimirov, Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev, Director of the Regional Health Inspectorate in Ruse Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Parashkevov, MD, Director of the National Center for Transfusion Hematology Dr. Krasimira Terzieva, Directors of the Regional Centers for Transfusion Hematology in Pleven and Plovdiv Dr. Anelia Tsocheva and Dr. Yanko Yankov, representatives of the Bulgarian Red Cross, representatives of the Bulgarian Red Cross, state and local institutions, medical specialists, citizens and journalists.

The manager of the medical institution, Dr. Ivelin Yotsov, emphasized the importance of blood donation as a supreme act of humanity and announced that since the beginning of January, over 1,050 voluntary blood donors have passed through the department. The head of the department, Dr. Zhanina Yordanova, MD, presented the activities and mission of the new structure. “Blood is the only thing that a person can donate to another person in the most gratuitous way, giving him a chance for life and a future. Our responsibility is for every patient to receive the necessary blood products at the right time,” she said.

The mayor of Ruse, Pencho Milkov, welcomed the management and team of the hospital for expanding the possibilities for healthcare in the city. “I am honored that a second transfusion hematology department has opened in Ruse. This is an important sign for the development of the MEDIKA University Hospital and for the establishment of the city as a significant medical center. I wish you to promote voluntary blood donation and for more and more people to realize how valuable this act is,” said Milkov. He congratulated the co-managers of Medica Hospitals - Alise Murtezova and Dr. Panayot Panayotov, for the initiative and noted that the opening of the Transfusion Hematology Department is proof of vision, responsibility and true care for patients.

Father Iskren performed the blessing of water for the health and well-being of medical specialists, donors and patients. The mayor expressed hope that the patron saint of Ruse - Saint George, will watch over all who dedicate their work to saving human lives.

As a sign of support for the cause of encouraging voluntary blood donation, Pencho Milkov personally donated blood. “Spending ten minutes of your day can mean saving a human life. Every young person or adult who has the opportunity can come and do good,” the mayor addressed the attendees.

The department accepts blood donors every working day from 8:00 to 16:00. Healthy people between the ages of 18 and 65, who are not taking certain medications and do not have infectious diseases, can donate blood. At least 60 days must have passed between two blood donations.
