Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev laid a wreath at the monument of Hristo Botev in Bucharest

By laying wreaths and flowers in front of the bust-monument of Hristo Botev in ''King Mihai I Park'', the Bulgarian community in Bucharest commemorated the 176th anniversary of the birth of the prominent poet and revolutionary. The initiative was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Romania, and among the official guests of the event were the Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality Encho Enchev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Romania H. E. Amb. Radko Vlajkov, representatives of NATO's multinational Southeast Division in Bucharest.

"Hristo Botev left a lasting legacy that continues to influence our national identity. His work inspires, strengthens and magnifies the Bulgarian spirit, and it is our responsibility and duty to pass on his feat to the next generation. " With these words the Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev addressed the audience. He expressed his gratitude to the Bulgarian community in Romania, which always gathers to commemorate the date. In his speech H. E. Radko Vlajkov paid tribute to the personality and work of the revolutionary. "Botev is immortal and we will always carry in our hearts the greatness of his sacrifice and the example he left and bequeathed to us," our ambassador to Romania said.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Ruse folk community center "Hristo Botev", as well as the diplomatic corps of our mission in Bucharest. Traditionally, it was attended by representatives of the Democratic Union of Bulgarians in Romania, the Federation of the Bulgarian Community in Romania, as well as students from the Bulgarian Sunday School at the Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest "Yordan Yovkov", led by the director of the school Nadezhda Kula.

Wreaths and flowers were also laid at the monument of Vasil Levski, which is next to the one of Botev.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Vlaikov, on behalf of the Minister of Education and Science, presented a certificate of merit to Violeta Pikova, a teacher with 23 years of experience in the Bulgarian Sunday School at our Embassy, marking her outstanding contribution to education worldwide.
