Over 300 runners started in the seventh Danube marathon "Prista RUN 2024"

Over 300 participants took part in the seventh edition of the Danube Marathon "Prista RUN 2024", which was held in Lipnik Forest Park. Organizers of the event are Ruse Municipality and Sports Club "Compass-cross".

At the start-finish stood competitors from 22 settlements in the country, as well as guests from Romania and Great Britain. The distances that overcame the competitors were 8, 17 and 25 km long.

The youngest participants in the race were the first-grader Mihail Vutsov and the second-grader Ivona Ruseva, who successfully overcame the 8-kilometer distance. The doyens in athletics of Bulgaria - the longtime national athlete and state champion of marathon distances Vladimir Panovski and his wife, the famous national player Rumyana Panovska, who successfully ran 25 kilometers, also took the start.

The routes of the 17 and 25 km long distances were organized not only along the alleys of the park, but also along the new eco-trail leading to the huts "Zdravets" and "Minzuhar", where there were also positioned refreshment points.

All finishers were awarded by the organizers with specially made medals and promotional souvenirs.

The winners were awarded by the Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality Nikola Lazarov and the Head of the University Sports Center of the University of Ruse Dr. Valeri Yordanov.

Teams of the Municipal Police, the specialized municipal unit "Inspector, security, public order and security", police officers from the 2nd Regional Directorate of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Ruse and the gendarmerie provided excellent organization for the protection and safety of the route, as well as the parking of the cars.
