Ruse welcomed the medalists from the European Weightlifting Championship

In the hall of Sport Club  "Yalta" were welcomed the athletes of Weightlifting Club "Ruse", who returned from the European Weightlifting Championship, which was held a few days ago in Sofia. Angel Rusev, Djhan Zarkov, Nadezhda – May Nguyen and their coaches Krastina and Radoslav Atanasovi were awarded for their success at the sports forum, including one gold and two bronze medals, as well as for the excellent performance of Reni Ruseva. The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Ruse Encho Enchev.

"We are proud that you glorify our city not only within the country, but also abroad. Ruse Municipality is grateful for the professional work of both our sports hopes and their coaches who guide them in every step towards glory, "said the Deputy Mayor. He also thanked the Chairman of the Management Board of Weightlifting Club "Ruse" prof. Dr. Kiril Panayotov, MD, PhD, for the care of the sports club and the conditions it creates so that athletes can develop in the best possible way.

The Deputy Regional Governor Georgi Georgiev, the Head of the Regional Inspectorate of Education in Ruse Dr. Rositsa Georgieva, the Director of the Student Sports School Maya Petrova, the Director of the Sports School "Major A. Uzunov" Evgeni Nedev, as well as representatives of the local and state authorities also expressed respect for the weightlifters in Ruse.

We recall that at the European Weightlifting Championship Angel Rusev won his fourth consecutive championship title. Although with a sore shoulder, the Ruse man did not give up and triumphed with a total match of 244 kg.

Djhan Zarkov won his bronze medal with a match of 235 kilograms - 102 in the ejection and 133 in the ejection.

Nadezhda – May Nguyen also won bronze at the start of the European Championship in Sofia. The young heavyweight athlete from Weightlifting Club "Ruse" competes in the category up to 45 kg. Her teammate Reni Ruseva also performed worthily in Group B of the category up to 49 kg. She recorded a successful experience of 60 kg in the ejection and 80 kg of ejection.
