Ruse will celebrate the Day of Botev and the fallen for the freedom of Bulgaria with a commemorative ceremony

On 2 June, Friday, in honour of Hristo Botev and those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria, Ruse Municipality organizes a commemorative ceremony, which will start at 11:30 am in front of the Memorial of the Fallen in the Wars for National Unification (ul. "Alexandrovska" 120).

Speeches will be delivered by the Governor of Ruse Anatoly Stanev, the Mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov and the Chairman of the Ruse Municipal Council Ivo Pazardzhiev. A funeral prayer in memory of Hristo Botev and those who died for the freedom of the Fatherland will be celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Naum and priests from the Holy Metropolis of Ruse. The Municipal Brass Band with conductor Dimcho Rubchev, as well as the 13th Youth Guard Unit will take part in the ceremony. A guard of honour from the Ruse garrison will be built on the memorial date.

Traditionally, wreaths and flowers will be laid at the end of the ceremony by social and political organisations, schools and institutions. The ceremony will end exactly at 12 noon, when the sirens will sound in memory of Botev and those who died for Bulgarian freedom.

The host of the event will be the actor from the "Sava Ognyanov" Theatre Lyubomir Kanev.
