The boys of BC "Dunav Ruse 2016" with the first state championship title

Today the juniors of the Sports Basketball Club "Dunav Ruse 2016" with coach Nikolay Nikolov won the state championship title for the first time in the history of the city.

The final of the State Championship for boys up to 17 years was held in "Dunav" hall.

The second place went to their rivals from BC "Buba Basketball" - Sofia. The medals and the cup for the winners were awarded by the Mayor Pencho Milkov.

The game for the first place was extremely contested until the last minute, when the Ruse basketball players gained 5 points lead. The match ended with a score of 76 to 71, which made the crowd burst into joyful cheers.

The silver medals of the runners-up "Buba Basketball" were awarded by the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation Filip Videnov.

"Dunav Ruse 2016" reached the top of the rankings after three days of final matches, which included "Academic - Bultex 99" - Plovdiv, "Chernomorets" - Burgas, "Balkan" - Botevgrad, "Shumen" - Shumen, "Tundzha" - Yambol and "Septemvri" - Sofia.
